🚨 The government may be shut down, but rescue work never stops. When funding freezes, animals still need food, care, and love. 💔 While agencies pause, rescues like ours keep going — feeding, healing, and rescuing daily on debt, IOU’s and fumes. 🐾 💡How can you help? What we need most is food for all, dog beds and funds for routine vet care. If you can volunteer to foster a dog, mail dog food, human snacks, or bottled water for our team. Anybody want to join me virtually or in person for street feeding again this winter? I don’t show this side of the rescue anymore because people are so judgmental on what they don’t understand. I’m completely out of space for new rescues until more dogs get adopted or I get full time help and build another building. Many volunteer visitors love spending time with the dogs at my house—but what truly helps is finding them homes so we can save more lives like you see in this video. 💛 (all of which

I always give people a disclaimer when they want to volunteer at @offthegridanimalsanctuary because we are leash free 95% of the time and our dogs have roaming rights to the entire land. 🙌🏾 Sending huge gratitude to @yadhiratorresmatus for caring for the entire sanctuary while I was away for a week! 🌿 Not many people can step into my shoes, but after three months of hands-on training—learning each animal’s diet, behavior, and special needs—she did it beautifully. 🙌 From soothing to cooking t

It’s 12:19 AM and I haven’t posted in two weeks. I am forcing this post out as I’m behind on rescue updates and need to star somewhere through this empty feeling. So much pressure has been on me to keep it all together when sometimes I want to let go when it all feels to heavy. Animal rescue is HARD! You rescue an animal, rehabilitate it, earn its trust and then give the dog up for adoption hoping they’ll have a home forever after all that. 🥺 I’ve never felt so much pain and happiness at the sa

Rare footage of almost everyone in the same frame! 🐴 Did you know we have equine? Marty (the zebra) and Cookie (our most recent slaughter rescue) are around here somewhere, of course. All of our herd—except one sweet girl named Dahlia—are rescue horses. I got Dahlia for my birthday from a woman that couldn’t afford to keep her anymore. At the time, long before animal rescue, I was traveling full time and making great money as a content creator and could afford horse boarding while I lived in my

Is it me or does ir feel like this rescue is the beginning of a huge chapter at @offthegridanimalsanctuary ? 🥹 Lovey’s story has touched me so much at this little abandoned beach. He claimed that beach as his safe haven. Regardless of the broken glass and people leaving trash, he was able to enjoy his little corner listening to the ocean waves. All though the fear, starvation and uncertainty…he was loyal to this little place and wouldn’t let anyone catch him. I feel honored to have locked eyes

3 dogs dumped! 😡 A witness just reported seeing someone in a grey Jeep Renegade abandon 3 little dogs in a kennel by a dumpster—in broad daylight. Thankfully, @offthegridanimalsanctuary (myself) was able to rescue them within the hour. 😩 It’s 94 degrees and they had no water. Right now, I need to focus on these pups and finish as many chores as possible before dark. Here’s the truth: our cup needs pouring into right now. Fundraising has been almost nonexistent, and if it weren’t for a handful

New Team Member Appreciation! Having live in help and campers at the rescue has always been a dream for me. 🥹 well, The most amazing human @hyphy.mami is at @offthegridanimalsanctuary ! She’s an artist from San Francisco and I cannot thank this woman enough for assisting me with the animal care and maintenance at our sanctuary. She does everything from whipping up meals, organization, laundry and poop scooping after all the animals.🥹 Since Alencia stepped in, I’ve had the pleasure to know what

My legendary explorer parents have spent their lifetime making their dream cabin in the Colorado Rocky Mountains made by hand out of mud and straw….finally excited to share it with you! It’s pretty coconuts! And new animal friends too! Do you prefer living off grid in a sustainable home? A treehouse? A mountain cabin? What’s your dream home?
