An armed robbery suspect is dead after a high-speed chase and brief search ended in gunfire near a scrapyard in north St. Louis. According to Mitch McCoy, a spokesman for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting happened around 11:40 a.m. in the 5600 block of Natural Bridge near Clara Avenue. The suspect, a man in his 20s, was taken to the hospital, where he later died, McCoy said. His name has not been released. Police did not say if the man was armed. Recap the report on fox2
